Checklist
Before you release an episode, you should check off all the following components.
Series Roadmap
Episode 1
- Create first draft with Series Info, Tags, and Story interactivity (Branching vs Linear) filled out.
- Upload a cover - make sure the title is legible and clearly visible.
- Playtest your episode to be sure it runs the way you want & you’re happy with it.
- Hit ‘Publish’ in TalesCreator – episode is now live to gather data!
Pilot (Episode 1-3)
- Keep working on your pilot while Episode 1 gathers data.
- Release episodes 2 & 3 when ready.
- Get feedback on your pilot from the community to make it the best it can be!
- Promote your series on Social Media and tag the official Tales accounts (@talesfiction) – we might just re-post your promo 😉
Season Production
- Continue working on episodes to finish your Season 1 while we collect data. A Tales Content Manager may reach out with action items so you can optimize:
- Opening scenes (Tap 1-10, Tap 10-100, Tap 100-Episode Complete)
- Conversion to next episode
- Premium monetization
- If minimum benchmarks are met, we may begin testing paid ads to determine the audience most receptive to your title.
Season Completed
- This is when you should expect to receive royalties if you’ve done the necessary work to improve your episode to episode conversion improvements.
- Once your season is completed, you’ll spend time polishing the rough edges by optimizing cliffhangers, adding FX/text styles, and balancing any gameplay.
- If your player retention & monetization data look good, we will begin running paid ads on a steady state and recurring social media posts to grow the property.
